“Oliver Seventh Different Winner With Street Stock Score”

   Budds Creek, MD (7/26/24)- Winchester Virginia’s Kyle Hardy drove to his second win of the season in last Friday nights 20-lap Crate Late Model feature at Potomac Speedway. The win for Hardy, came steering his iconic Rocket No.99, and would be his 11th career division feature win.
   Hardy drew the pole for the feature, and that was all he needed as he took the lead on the first lap and out ran the remainder of the field to score the win over opening day winner Billy Hubbard to collect his overall 24th career Potomac feature win. “We take a lot of pride in our family owned car and it’s a great way to get the weekend started with a win here tonight.” Hardy stated in his post race interview. “I just want to say thanks to Denise for having us down here tonight and all the fans that came out and supported the show.” Mike Raleigh took a career best third place finish with current point leader Ben Scott and Doug Penny rounding out the top five. Hubbard and Raleigh scored heat race wins.
   Jonny Oliver drove his brand new ARC race cars No.67 to his first win of the season in the 15 lap Street Stock feature. Oliver took the lead on the first lap and held off current point leader and one time winner Matt Tarbox to post the popular victory to become the seventh different winner in the nine races for the class this season. “Roy Anderson and Mike Corbin built us this new car and it’s the best handling stock car I’ve ever driven.” Oliver stated.” “We’ve had a bunch of motor issues this year, but tonight was finally our night.” Ben Pirner took a season best third place finish with Gerald Shannon and Kyle Nelson completing the top five.
   In other Friday night action, Mason Hanson drove to his third win of the season in the 15 lap Hobby Stock feature, Nab Guffey continued his dominance of the strictly stock division as he posted his 6th win of the season in their 15 lap contest with defending track champion Dominic King becoming the fourth different winner In the four races contested with his victory in the 15 lap Roadster main.
