By Doug Watson

Budds Creek, MD (9/23/22)- Kyle Lear collected his first win of the season in last Friday night’s 25-lap Limited Late Model feature at Potomac Speedway. The win for Lear, worth $1500, would come steering his iconic Rocket no.151 and would mark his 26th career division feature win.
Lear darted from his second starting spot into the lead on the first lap and would pace all 25 circuits for his 4th overall win of the 2022 season. Eventual runner up Derick Quade chased Lear the entire way but could not get close enough to challenge for the lead. “We’ve got this car going pretty good right now.” Lear stated post race. “This is the car we call unicorn and since we got it back together, we haven’t been out of the top-five with it, and a big thanks to the crew and sponsors for all their support.” Sam Archer, ninth starting David Willams and Brandon Long rounded out the top five. Heats went to Derick Quade and Kerry King. With his 5th place finish, Brandon Long secured his second consecutive division crown. “This is a great feeling.” Long quipped. “We have a good team and great sponsors and this is for them.”
In support class action, Scotty Nelson drove to his 3rd win of the season in the 20-lap Street Stock feature, Mason Hanson rolled to his division leading 5th victory of 2022 in the 15-lap Hobby Stock main, Ralph Price scored his first ever Potomac win in the 15-lap Strictly Stock contest and Justin Bottorf secured his 4th win of the season in the 15-lap Roadster event.
