“Bryant Upset Winner in Potomac Limited Late Models”

“Hardy Secures 6th In RUSH Crates”

By Doug Watson

Budds Creek, MD-(8/26/22) Third year Limited Late Model pilot Wayne Bryant drove to his first career division feature win last Friday night at Potomac Speedway. After sitting out much of the 2022 season waiting on an engine, Bryant made his first start of the season with his Rocket no.43 to become the 73rd different driver to win in the division at Potomac.
Defending track champion Brandon Long would lead the first lap of the event before Bryant slid into the lead on the second lap. As Bryant lead, 5th starting Kyle Lear reached second by the 13th lap and set his sights on Bryant. Even with the repeated challenges by Lear over the final seven circuits, Bryant hung tough to collect the breakthrough win. “My car was awesome.” Bryant stated post race. “We had good speed and it handled the best since we’ve been coming there. It felt good to get a win.” Current point leader Kyle Hardy took third with Chuck Cox and Brandon Long completing the top five.
Kyle Hardy continued his winning ways as he racked up his 6th RUSH Crate Late Model win and overall 12th Potomac victory of the season. Joey Love settled for second after leading the first six laps, with Megan Mann, Ed Pope Jr and defending track champion Jeremy Pilkerton rounding out the top five.
In support class action defining track champion and current point leader PJ Hatcher registered his 5th win of the season and the 20 lap street stock feature, current division point leader Austin Lathroum collected his 2nd of the season in the 15 lap hobby stock feature, Greg Mattingly the current strictly stock standings leader rolled to his 5th victory of the season in their 15 lap main with Justin Bottorf scoring his 3rd of the season in the 15 lap roadster contest.
