    Budds Creek, MD (5/12/23)-  Mechanicsville Maryland’s Derick Quade drove to his first win of the season in last Friday nights 25-lap Limited Late Model feature at Potomac Speedway. Quade’s victory, worth $1500, came steering is familiar Longhorn no.74 and made him the third different winner in the three races held for the division this season.
    Quade left little doubt that he had the fastest car on the track as he burst into the lead from his second starting spot on the first lap and would lead all 25-circuits in dominating fashion to collect his 31st career feature win. “It feels great  just to win again.” A jubilant Quade stated in victory lane. “We’ve had a good car all season long so far but we just haven’t been able to get a win and it feels pretty good to finally get one here tonight.” Jamie Lathroum was second with Kyle Lear, Kenny Moreland and Sam Archer rounding out the top-five. Heats went to Quade and Archer.
    Wyatt Hanson lined up second for the start of the 20-lap Street Stock feature and would take the lead on the first lap and never look back in scoring his first career division feature win. “We had a great car tonight and I have to thank everyone who helped get us here tonight.” Mason Hanson, PJ Hatcher, Raymond Reed and Gerald Shannon trailed at the finish.
    In support class action defending track champion Greg Mattingly took his first win of the season and career 24th in the makeup 15-lap Strictly Stock feature, Jayden Hatcher became the first repeat Strictly Stock winner with his win in the regularly scheduled 15-lap contest with Kelly Crouse claiming his first U Car win of 2023 in their nightcap 15-lap event.
